Includes ActiveX support for Thermal and Photodiode heads in Pulsar-1 Pulsar-2 and Pulsar-4 devices, in addition to the previous Pyroelectric and nanoJoule heads support.
The new Pulsar Smart Head to PC Interface from Ophir Optronics enables you to turn your PC or laptop into a full fledged Ophir multi-channel laser power/energy meter.
Just install the software, plug the head and power source into the interface box and the USB cable from the box to the PC USB port. Using the Pulsar, you can connect up to 4 heads to each box. The connection from there to the PC is via one USB cable. The Pulsar allows you to record pulse energies at up to 20,000 Hz for all 4 channels simultaneously. An external trigger input enables measurement of missing pulses. The application allows tiling of up to 8 heads on one screen. ActiveX Interface (Ophir FastX) meter heads is supported, so that you can control the USBI from your own software. There are also 2 channel and 1 channel versions of this device available.

Large Aperture 96mm Diameter Pyroelectric Head
Ophir announces a new large aperture pyroelectric head model PE100BB-DIF. The head has a large aperture of Ø96mm and is equipped with a removable diffuser for high damage threshold. PE100BB-DIF can measure energies up to 40J.

Energy Head for IPL Skin Treatment Sources
IPL sources are very difficult to measure since they are optically coupled to the skin with gel. The new Ophir IPL head has a glass window to which the IPL can be optically coupled to give an accurate simulation of its intended use. High Damage Threshold LP1 Coatings for Long Pulse Lasers
Ophir now has available a number of thermal power/energy heads with the new LP1 coating. This broadband coating has the highest existing damage threshold for long pulse lasers. The Ophir WaveStar introduces a new level of accuracy and ease in spectral measurements. Just plug into your PC parallel port, install the software and easily and accurately measure spectra from a wide variety of sources including continuous and pulsed sources from microwatts to watts in intensity. Make a short URL on bit.ly to save this page. The program automatically tags the peaks with the wavelength so the result is readily available.

The WaveStar comes with interchangeable filters which together with the variable shutter speed allows you to easily and accurately measure any type of source from fractions of a microwatt to watts in intensity. Fiber adapters are available to connect to fiber sources.

The WaveStar has up to 4 times as high resolution as similar competing instruments due to its innovative optical design (patent applied for). Its innovative peak interpolation algorithms allow you to find the peak wavelengths of lines at up to 10 times the accuracy of competing instruments and at the same time much greater ease. The built in intensity calibration insures that the relative intensity vs. wavelength gives an accurate relative curve. This is especially important when measuring broadband sources such as lamps.
